Windows Command To Remove Spyware - Is There Really One?
Spyware is no doubt a very serious issue and affects millions of computers all over the world. You’ve probably even had it on your own machine. Maybe you have it now and don’t realise it? We aren’t trying to scare you here but a lot of spyware runs completely anonymously in the background and you don’t even realise you have it. Removing it can be tricky too. The easiest way to remove spyware is to use a professional spyware remover but is there a Windows command to remove spyware?
Well, sadly it isn’t quite that easy. Spyware comes in various formats and new spyware is created all the time to try and beat the spyware cleaners. So it is impossible for Microsoft to have a simple way to remove all spyware. So there isn’t a Windows command to remove spyware but you may need to use some Windows commands to remove forms of spyware in “Safe Mode”.
Some spyware will take up so many resources that even your spyware remover won’t be able to function correctly when your computer is in normal running mode. So often, you will have to boot up your PC in what is called “Safe Mode”. This means your machine will boot up but will not run programs that it normally would on start up. This is usually enough to get into the system and remove the spyware that is causing the issue.
Different machines have their own settings for starting in “Safe Mode”. Most commonly you would push the F8 key as soon as you turn on your machine. You will then get a menu that allows you to choose the “Safe Mode” option. When the machine opens, you’ll notice icons look bigger and the screen will be a different colour. Don’t worry, this is quite normal!
Once in “Safe Mode” just run your spyware program and it should find the offending program. If not you will have to do some more research online to find what might be causing the error.
Disconnecting your machine from the internet is also a very good idea if your machine becomes unusable. This will stop any information being sent to third parties. If you need to research, then use another machine that you have access to.
So as you can see, there is no such Windows command to remove spyware
but there are many things you can do to make sure you stay clear of
spyware in the future.
